complex, but not complicated.

description

«1000 hours of ukrainian content» is a state programme funding film, series, animation, theatre and music — a national initiative with a multi-billion budget.

i designed the deck that has to explain all of it in one sitting. the hard part wasn't the slides — it was the logic underneath them.

a matrix nobody could read across

at the centre sits a content matrix: twenty types, each with duration, project count, unit cost and production time. it arrived as a spreadsheet — complete, impossible to hold in your head.

around it — budget allocation, selection stages, commissions, timelines. all of it lands with people who read the deck once, in a room, and decide.

logic before

the layout

i started with what the table is for: which columns a reader compares, which ones they check once and forget, and where the colour grouping carries meaning i couldn't touch.

that decided the layout. the columns people compare stay adjacent, so the eye travels one line; the rest move outward, informing without interrupting.

the deadline left time to build the structure once — getting the logic right first was the only way to survive that.

the eye has to hold the line

the client's real request wasn't «make it pretty». it was that someone following one type of content shouldn't lose the row halfway across the slide. so rows are separated by air instead of rules, and each colour group is framed as a block.

one idea per slide, figures set large enough and the sequence ordered so the deck holds up.

got a brand that gets lost? let's pull it together.
