description

synthetica is the first conference in ukraine built entirely around ai in creative work — two days of talks, workshops and panels with international speakers.

i designed the landing page: structure and interface — the only place the event existed before it happened.

the audience is afraid of falling behind

the brief named the fear: designers and developers watching ai move faster than they can follow, with no reliable place to catch up. that fear sells the ticket — not the programme.

which puts the page in an awkward spot. an event promising to look like it's standing there. anything conventional and the visitor quietly concludes the conference is behind too.

the design has to be the argument

so the first decision wasn't layout. if the page looks ahead of what people expect, the promise is believed before it's read — and the fear that brought them here works for the event.

i gathered references around one question — what «now» looks like this year. refracted glass, oversized type, acid green on black. the mood was signed off before a screen was drawn.

the brief fixed which sections exist. my work was the order they're felt in, and what each one has to prove.

the look is

the evidence

refracted glass carries it — the language ai products already speak, so it reads as native to the subject, not decorative. acid green on near-black says it faster than a headline.

oversized type keeps a dark page legible, the asymmetric grid keeps the eye moving. hand-drawn marks break the machine-perfect surface — an ai conference has to feel made by people.

an event that looks like it knows.

the page answers the question the audience actually arrives with — is this ahead of me, or behind me — before a single line of the programme is read.

got a brand that gets lost? let's pull it together.
